Goodbye March, and Hello April!! I can't wait to see what exciting adventures this month holds. Here's hoping April brings everyone sparkly days in the company of good friends!

Ladies and Gentlemen

I came across this saying on Pinterest the other day, and haven't been able to get the truth of it out of my thoughts. I come across guys often and I can't help but ask myself, "Did your mother not teach you better?" Then the next question I ask myself is, "Who have you been dating, that has taught you it is okay to treat women that way?" I think it's an absolute disservice to all other women when girls don't act like ladies and give guys the challenge to be true gentlemen. Girls need to be taught to value themselves more and challenge men to treat them as ladies. I know I've done this myself. I only hope to challenge more people to truly be ladies and gentlemen.

St. Patty's Day Party Time Ideas

For those of you looking forward to getting together with friends over a green beer, here are some great St. Patrick's Day Fun Finds. Something about the Luck of the Irish has me very excited about this year's celebration!

1. This pretty table set up would be great for a gathering of friends who bring you the most blessings.
2. It would be fun to offer a variety of "Irish" beers for a fun taste testing.
3. These fun and free Rainbow Pot of Gold Printables would be a great way to decorate.

Shiny Things

Sad but true. I saw this image, and on my quest to locate it, was distracted at least 50 times by "shiny things. I am a firm believer everything in life looks a little better when shining, shimmering or glittering. That includes not only objects, but people as well. So be the shine, shimmer or glitter in someone's otherwise ordinary day!

Pink Dreams

I absolutely love pink. And glitter. But especially pink. It just gets my attention, and screams "NOTICE ME!!" I think all things worth noticing should have at least a touch of pink in them. While updating things at Double B Party Barns, I have slowly and joyfully been adding touches of pink here and there. It just makes my heart smile. I can't help it. And as I peruse the internet, I can't help but let my pink obsession take me to all sorts of fun and exciting new places.

This pink house is why I work. I must make money to  build a big pink mansion on a rolling hill that even Barbie or Scarlet O'Hara would be jealous of.

Holiday Sparkle and Cheer

I truly love all things with rhinestones, that glitter, sparkle or are the color pink, so it should not come as a shock that the Christmas season with all its love for these same things is my favorite time of the year. I came across this sequin loving post at This is Glamorous and just gasped in delight!

And then there was this sparkly dress on How Does She that just left me ready to dress up and find my way to the nearest Holiday Party!

Hopefully that party would have some of these yummy Peppermint Martinis which the recipe can be found to make for yourself at Celebrations at Home!

It's easy to forget how much color we add to our experiences. We can look at the same sky one hour and think it's beautiful, then come back later and find it ugly. When we forget how our thoughts and feelings change the way we see, we begin to accept reality as our tainted view. To some extent this is inevitable, but as Shaw suggests it's best to remain clean and bright else you'll find yourself seeing your world without its merits.

Glass Bottle Chandelier

We are going to build a new porch with a large overhanging at Double B Party Barns, and I have been saving my wine bottles to make something like this fun DIY glass bottle chandelier. I have also considered using mason jars and making a chandelier with them. I just love the glow it puts off!

Halloween Fright Night 2011

Halloween Fright Night 2011 was held Saturday night at Double B Party Barns, and was a huge success. We will definitely be making this fun filled evening an annual event. We had an amazing DJ who played a great mix of music, which had everyone up and moving until 3 in the morning. The vast majority of people dressed up, which was awesome and really added to the fun. The costumes were extremely creative, as were the decorations we worked on for the past month. All our hard work was well worth it, and I can't wait to start planning next year's Fright Night 2012!!

Wedding Chapel Inspiration

We will soon be building a chapel at Double B Party Barns, which has me really excited! It will be great for people wanting to have their wedding and reception in one location. We have a grassy area, but given Lubbock's unpredictable weather, I can't ever 100% assure people they will be able to have their ceremony on the premises. I have been looking at cute country chapels, and am loving so many!!

I can't wait for the construction to begin on the chapel, as well as the first wedding that will take place in it!!

Business Card Do's & Dont's

This is a great article on the Do's and Dont's of Business Cards. We will be hosting the Young Professionals of Greater Lubbock's monthly meeting at the Double B Party Barns, and I have been encouraging everyone to attend and to be sure and bring business cards with them in order to help promote themselves while networking. 

I recently had new business cards made, and I had a difficult time deciding what information was relevant enough to be on my new cards. I think I did alright, but this article would have made it all a little easier.

Halloween Soiree Necessities

This tutorial from Little Birdie Secrets is just too fantastic!! About 10 of us are putting together a Halloween Soiree at Double B Party Barns and I think this should, without a doubt, greet all the ghouls and goblins at the front door.

Redneck Wine Glasses

How adorable are these Redneck Wine Glasses?!? I have seen them around town and on the internet and have been dying to have some at Double B Party Barns, but I want several of them, and I hated to pay $15 a piece or more for them. So here is a fantastic tutorial for creating them. They look easy enough and fairly inexpensive, so I think I will be trying out this little craft very soon!
